Come meet and greet and discuss your concerns with Mark Schauer, candidate for Governor at our Birmingham-Bloomfield Democratic Club meeting Wednesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. (note change in previously announced date due to a scheduling conflict on the 11th) at the Birmingham Baldwin Library, lower level meeting room at 300 West Merrill Street in downtown Birmingham.
Plenty of free 2 hour parking at both of the parking decks a 5 minute walk away (and just a dollar for the third hour if you'd like to meet up with others after the meeting for a drink or meal). Bring your friends! – we want to have a full room of interested people.
Mark Schauer was elected to the U.S. Congress from the 7th district in 2008. Previously he was a leader in the legislature serving as State Representative and State Senator, and before that as a Battle Creek city commissioner. He ran a nonprofit agency with over 200 employees – Community Action Agency of South Central Michigan – which helped seniors and children, and provided unemployed workers the tools to get back on their feet with programs like Head Start and Meals on Wheels.
In Congress he was instrumental in passing tougher Buy American laws, helping to rescue the auto industry, ensuring quality health care for millions, and working to make college more affordable for middle-class families.
