MDP Spring State Convention 2019

1 Washington Blvd, Detroit, Michigan 48226The purpose of this convention shall be to elect one Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party and two Vice Chairs each of another race and gender. Each congressional district caucus shall also elect a Chair, Vice Chair (of another gender from the Chair), Secretary, Treasurer, and 15 Members of the District Committee.
To hold party office or vote at this convention, a person must be a member for at least thirty (30) days prior, or by January 3, 2019. Precinct delegates, Democratic elected officials, Democratic nominees to partisan office, and individuals whose membership lapses inside the 30-day window may join or renew on or before February 2, 2019. Candidates for Chair/ Vice Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party or any congressional district must declare their intention to run by completing the form available at michigandems.com under the convention event page by January 3, 2019. Join us for the ceremonial swearing-in of Congressman Andy Levin by Senator Gary Peters. Speakers and performers from across the district will welcome our new representative into the 116th Congress. Doors will open at 1 with the program beginning at 1:30. This event is free and open to the public.
