Join the fight with others in Oakland and Macomb Counties to end the attacks on Michigan's middle class.
Join us for a special presentation and discussion about our upcoming workshops this Wednesday, September 14th in Madison Heights from 6:30-8PM to learn more!
We will be discussing our organization and our plan to fight back against the attacks from Lansing on our quality of life.
Those who would like to get involved will be able to enroll in one of our Local Action Workshops, which are scheduled for Macomb on September 17th and Oakland on October 1st.
What We're Fighting For:
Working and middle class families are under attack. Governor Snyder and Lansing politicians are exploiting the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression to give perks to rich CEOs on the backs of vulnerable seniors, students, young families and dedicated workers.
We Are The People — a diverse coalition of parents, students, seniors, workers and organizations fighting to protect Michigan’s middle class — is bringing together Oakland and Macomb County leaders and activists like you for one-day Local Action Workshops.
Topics will include:
- Amplifying our message of middle-class values – jobs, education, health care, basic rights;
- Using the power of 1-on-1 conversations to organize people and build movements;
- Creating a local action plan together – linking up with others willing to participate; and
- Holding Lansing politicians accountable
Participants will come away being part of a Local Action Team in either Oakland or Macomb County, with support from a full-time "We Are The People" organizer.
Wednesday's presentation meeting will be held at:
